A = Mass Number: Number of Protons + Neutrons

Z = Atomic Number: Number of Protons

E = The Element
:?: What are the representations of 12 Carbon (most common, on periodic table) and 13 Carbon? How many neutrons do they have, respectively?

The first one has 6 neutrons because A - Z = 12 - 6 = 12

The second one has 7 neutrons because A - Z = 13 - 6 = 7
