Do you feel hate literally kills?
I reckon that hate has been a really big problem in the world. We can manage that by being more tolerant and dealing with people kindly. I think all religions tell us to deal with people kindly and this can be a great way to deal with hatred. Religious philosophy has been used to deliver peace and justice in the world and this is a good thing.

Yes, pride and boastfulness could be a huge problem. When a person starts boasting about different things they possess, they start looking down upon others. I do not classify gossip as a hatred. It can be hatred only when people are scheming against another person or trying to spread false information regarding a person.
