Philosophers might get a job at some point in organisations where they are needed. For example, they may be needed by people who run nonprofit organisations, even though they mostly require sociologists. People pursuing a history degree end up becoming history teachers in schools, colleges, or universities.

If you want to pursue history degree in a hope to get a job, I do not think it has any worth. The only job you will get is teaching in school or college, and teaching isn't a well paid job. However, if you want to study history because you are passionate about learning, a degree in history is certainly beneficial.
