Why do people commit suicide?

Well, I am more empirical based guy, not fantasy. I hear enough stories of people being kidnapped, tortured, disabled and some died, some survived. Was God helping only one of them while others died in the process? or he has nothing to do with it regardless of their prayers.

God obeys certain limitations based on natural restrictions that I can't explain, and my guess is that's the best he can do.

If you are the omnipotent being, than you can indeed rewrite it or create it in a way that would work better. If in the Bible jesus tells his followers that if they believe they can move the mountain it will move. The faith is the key concept here. If we can use our thoughts to reshape reality. If humans can, so can God. It is a well known phenomena where people heal themselves through faith where they believe it will work (placebo effect).

It's not that simple as that. The prayers of the righteous are more powerful, and the using placebo as criticism is something I will do more research on, but it's definitely, again, not that simple.
