How a Billion Dollars Can Ruin Your Life
There is a popular anecdote in our country. About 150 years ago, a sitting prime minister gave 10 million to each of his sons, and one of them died on street just like a beggar, without money, without a house to live, and no proper clothes to wear. If you don't know how to use money, no matter how much you have you will still be screwed.
A lot of rich people don't give their kids an inheritance.Nomad wrote: Tue Jan 06, 2026 3:31 am There is a popular anecdote in our country. There are many people who do not know how to use money in the first place. They spend money on useless things and they end up being in a really poor condition. Investing money is an art and it is a skill. You have to be really careful when it comes to investing money. However, in the end, making money may be a lot about your fate and destiny.
The family often has to teach common sense life skills because schools don't and those skills are more important than so-called "education".Gardener wrote: Wed Jan 07, 2026 5:48 pm There are many people who do not know how to use money in the first place. I think that no matter how much money you have, there are certain things you simply cannot do. You cannot bring back your loved ones who have passed away. In case if you have a really bad addiction, you cannot conquer it with wealth. In fact, wealth can actually make you addicted to bad things if you do not use your money wisely.

Certainly! Wealth can be used to seek better addiction treatment. However, it can also be used to feed addiction. A person who is addicted to alcohol might buy more alcohol after getting wealthy. On the other hand, a person could seek treatment. So, this basically depends on the person.Jason wrote: Thu Jan 08, 2026 8:46 pmWealth can fund better addiction treatment.Gardener wrote: Thu Jan 08, 2026 8:29 pm I think that no matter how much money you have, there are certain things you simply cannot do. In our country, inheritance is the birth right. All kids are entitled to their parents wealth, however, this comes with a condition. That is the kids need to look after their aging parents.Jason wrote: Wed Jan 07, 2026 2:50 amA lot of rich people don't give their kids an inheritance.Nomad wrote: Tue Jan 06, 2026 3:31 am There is a popular anecdote in our country.
