Alcohol is quite destructive. It's a wonder that some churches, for instance, even tolerate it at all (ex: Catholic church).

Catholics are known to abuse children... Them allowing booze doesn't shock me.

I long thought total prohibition against alcohol wasn't biblical, but my new faith isn't Sola Scripture, which means it allows for revelation outside the Bible which can add or subtract from Scripture.
